1. Introduction

This programme was introduced in September 2006 to meet the parents’ needs for a quality English language programme for children that is normally only available in international kindergartens.
The playgroup programme is planned for one session per week.
The aim is to combine quality with reasonable pricing.

Young children are much more capable of learning new languages, than we, adults. The idea of this programme is based on my the experience obtained throughout the past ten years of working in an international, only English speaking kindergarten in Budapest.
During these years, I settled in and cared for (and still do) more than 200 children of 70 different nationalities.
Most of them never came across English as a language or even English speaking people before attending kindergarten.

Although my original occupation is related to the field of Economy, I also did childcare studies according to the British system (I hold a Diploma for Pre-School Practice specializing in children with special needs)

The curriculum of Little Artists® English Programme for Children was written and planned based both on my studies and my past and present teaching experience.
During the sessions we ONLY use English for conversations.
The maximum group size is 10 children at each session.

Sunday 9.30-13.30 2000Ft/hour (pre-registration necessary)

English playgroup during school-breaks:

Open during weekdays: 9.00-13.00 5500Ft/morning

2. About the sessions

The sessions take place on Saturdays and on Sundays. We cover one theme each month. Our name, "Little Artists" describes that during these sessions we discuss different, art related areas (literature, music, dance, arts&crafts) Each session is made up of four different parts:

Circle time

Talking about given theme, sitting in a circle on the carpet.

Story

Reading books and thus learning new words of the given theme.

Music

Songs, rhymes and games (singing and dancing)

Art

Arts and crafts

4. Age group

We are expecting children between the ages of 4-10 years. They can be either Hungarian or foreigners. It is not a problem at all if the child doesn’t speak Hungarian as the classes are held in English.

5. Schedule

The mixed aged groups run as indicated below:

Saturday 9:30 - 13.30 1300Ft/hour
Sunday 9:30 - 13.30 2000ft/hour-need to be registered 2 days before

Weekdays during school-breaks: 9.00 - 13.00 5500Ft

Please only register children who are able to separate from their parents. The presence of a non-English speaking parent might distract the sessions and their efficiency.
